The popular Pizza rides are back! May rides will hosted by
Carrie Payne. Meet on Wednesdays at 6 pm at
Mission Pizza,
for a short ride followed by Pizza. $5 includes three slices of pizza and a
soda (no charge if you just want to ride). For more details, see the
ride calendar.
Volunteers are still needed to lead the July, August and September pizza
rides. Contact the
ride coordinator
if you'd like to help out.
At this month's general meeting, ride coordinator Vanessa McDonnell will make
a brief presentation about leading club rides - the "hows, whys and
wherefores". If you've never led a ride and want to know what's involved,
or if you've led before and want a refresher on how to do it right, this
presentation is for you!
The general meeting will be held on May 8 at 7:30 pm, at the
Fremont Community Activities Center.
Due to popular demand, we will be doing an additional Primavera jersey
order. This is the last chance to get our beautiful 40th Annual jersey
(with optional matching shorts)!
To get your jersey, fill out the
order form
and mail it in by May 4, 2012.

Cinderella Training Rides
Every year the FFBC runs the
Cinderella Training Ride Program.
This weekly series of rides is designed to encourage women to learn to ride
a bicycle safely in groups and to develop the skills needed to successfully
complete the Valley Spokesmen's Cinderella Century.
The 2012 Cinderella Century took place on Saturday, March 31. The training
program for next year's ride will start in mid-January 2013.
We offer weekly and monthly rides on all types of terrain for all types of
riders. Come join us for our "Get To Know Us Ride" on the second Sunday of
each month, or our "First Saturday of the Month" Calaveras Ride. Wednesday
night Pizza rides during the summer months (May to September) are another
favorite.

Progressive Ride Series
The Progressive Ride Series is designed to get riders in condition to do a
full century. This series starts in mid-January with shorter and flatter
rides and gradually builds up to a full century, which is the Worker's Ride
in April and follow the Primavera route. Rainouts will not alter the
schedule of the series. The emphasis is on an M pace, which will be offered
for each ride. Other paces may or may not be supported; check each ride
description in the calendar for full details.
